Software & platform engineer · Canada
Timothy Omotayo
I build backend services, cloud infrastructure, and the observability that holds them together.
Currently open to senior software, backend, and platform engineering roles.
Focus
What I work on
Backend engineering
APIs and services in Python, TypeScript, and Node.js. I aim for code that reads clearly, fails predictably, and stays easy to operate in production.
Cloud infrastructure
AWS infrastructure as code with CDK and CloudFormation. CI/CD pipelines and platform tooling that get out of the way of product teams.
Observability
Metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts wired in early, so on-call engineers move from symptom to cause without guessing.
Writing
Notes on the work
Notes I write to keep my own work honest. Backend, cloud, observability, and the ethics of building software for people who can’t afford for you to be wrong.

A top-down reference for AWS networking. CIDR math, subnets, gateways, NACLs, and security groups, walked through from the outside in across eleven layers.

Serverless and CI/CD: a payments stack walkthrough
A field manual for the parts that come after the VPC: Lambda, API Gateway, queues, deploy pipelines, and the patterns that hold them together — walked through with a payment authorization flow.
